Romy & Linda Caringal Bio
Romy and Linda Caringal are physicians from the
Philippines. Their cross-cultural ministries are wrapped around two
countries: Zambia (1988-1995) and Nepal (1998-2006). Provision of holistic
patient care is their thrust in ministry, along with support of national
churches and mentoring of believers.
They earned their medical degrees in the Philippines (Far Eastern
University) and their master's degrees in public health from Boston
University (Linda) and Yale University (Romy). Both completed
cross-cultural studies at Overseas Ministries Study Center in New Haven,
Connecticut. Romy is an ordained minister in The Wesleyan Church. They are
blessed with twin children: Hannah and Nathan ('97).
Romy and Linda received Christ through a campus ministry while they were
premedical students. Before completing his pediatric residency, Romy
sensed God's call for mission work overseas. Linda answered the call to
missions during a missionary service in her home church in Metro Manila.
Romy and Linda's vision is "to see many more individuals develop a
personal relationship with Christ, who will lead transformed lives and
become part of a thriving church that will reach out to other Asians."
They will return to Asia in 2007 to provide leadership in 11 countries
where Global Partners is engaged. |
