Cory & Kris Thede Bio
Cory felt a call to missionary service during his
high school years and chose to earn a B.S. degree in horticulture to be
used in missions. As a child, Kris (TerAvest) lived for two years on the
island of LaGonave in Haiti. It was during this time that Kris felt a call
to missionary service while watching the staff of the Wesleyan hospital.
Over the years, both Cory and Kris have had a wide and varied experience
in missions. Since 1998 they have served as missionaries in Haiti.
Cory’s desire is to be a servant, using agricultural development to help
meet the needs of his brothers and sisters in Christ, helping to
strengthen their faith, and drawing those who do not know the Lord into a
relationship with Him.
In preparation for her ministry, Kris earned her M.D. degree and specialty
in family practice medicine. Her desire is to do the Lord’s will, teaching
nationals to be able to give their people better health care and, thereby,
opening doors for people to see God’s love and receive His salvation.
"…for the
equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the
body of Christ"
(Ephesians 4:12 NAS).
